the opportunity to:

  •  Participate in a curriculum of six filmmaking courses
  • Take advantage of free unlimited studio time and equipment rental
  • Gain experience working with industry professionals in Wichita
  • Complete a major independent project guided by a DAS instructor

Digital Arts Studio Filmmaking students learn a collaborative, hands-on approach to screenwriting,
visual storytelling, lighting and composition, directing actors, location sound and editing.
Below is a recommended timeline which will allow you to complete the program within one year.

DISCOVER (two foundations courses)
Begin with two foundations courses where you will learn the pre-production, production and postproduction
process through the creation of short films.

ANALYZE (two foundations courses + propose final project)
In this second term, you will deepen your technical mastery as a filmmaker through the
deconstruction of various films and approaches to creating your own films. During this term it is
recommended that you propose your final project.

SYNTHESIZE (two electives + complete final project)
Having built a solid foundation in filmmaking, this is an opportunity to create work which expresses
your unique vision as a filmmaker, and adapt that vision to various cinematic approaches.
